Our client is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and organised individual to join their central Exeter based Human Resources (HR) team in this newly created role.
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £17,675 - £18,685 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
As HR Assistant, you’ll provide exceptional customer service to colleagues, dealing with day to day queries across the entire remit of HR including recruitment, employee relations, and learning and development (L&D). Because this is a small team, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved and gain experience across the full range of HR generalist activities, supported by HR colleagues who are equally dedicated to good customer service.
In addition, you’ll also take specific responsibility for organising a review of the L&D offer with support from others in the HR team and colleagues across the organisation. You’ll provide administrative support to keep things running smoothly, including liaising with external training companies, organising training, and maintaining accurate records of training that has taken place.
What the charity is looking for
They are looking for someone with real enthusiasm for gaining experience in the field of HR, and specifically L&D. There will be lots of opportunities to learn in this role, so motivation to continuously develop is of key importance.
Beyond this, they are looking for someone with strong administrative experience in a busy office environment - the ideal candidate will have experience working in an HR team in a similar post. They are a small team who deal with a number of projects and priorities at the same time, so experience managing a busy workload and flexibly adjusting to change is vital.
A large part of the role will involve dealing with HR queries, so you’ll be a great communicator, with experience of liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders with confidence. You’ll naturally enjoy providing responsive, quality and friendly customer service.
Finally, you’ll be responsible for co-ordinating bookings/meetings, keeping records, and manipulating data so excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organisation skills will all be needed.
