Our client is looking to recruit a legal cashier to join an existing team on a full-time permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have previous experience and in particular knowledge of conveyancing transactions.

The Legal Cashiers rotate duties to ensure the day to day processing and reconciliation of both office and client funds are accurate, in line with business needs and in accordance with appropriate VAT, SAR and AML regulations.

Key Tasks:

Logging, reviewing and allocating incoming client funds.

Inputting client payments and obtaining appropriate authorisation in advance of deadlines.

Placing client funds on and taking funds off deposit accounts.

Banking of all client and office account cheques.

Processing outgoing cheques.

Processing and reconciling professional disbursements.

Payment of professional disbursements in line with SAR.

Daily, weekly and, monthly reconciliation of the office, client and deposit accounts.

Ensuring the application and posting of client interest payments and the relevant transfer of monies between bank accounts if applicable.

Processing fee notes.

Monitoring of aged fees and disbursements.

Project work as set by the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Finance to include client balances, work in progress, out of date cheques, SRA and audit related projects.

Attitude and skills:

Excellent communication skills are essential.

Ability to work to tight deadlines, show flexibility and prioritise workloads in a calm and consistent manner.

The candidate must be able to work in an open plan, friendly but fast paced and professional environment.
