Temporary Female Support Worker – Maternity leave cover contract

Female support worker required to work with a young lady with cerebral palsy in her own home, in the St Austell area. 

She attends college 2 days per week.  When at home, she enjoys being in her sensory room, accessing her computer and switches, participating in cooking / art activities, carrying out her physiotherapy programme, attending Hydrotherapy and Rebound therapy and accessing the local community. She has a friendly and cooperative personality and uses facial expression and switches to communicate.

Up to 39 hours per week available covering a 24/7 rota, also one sleep-in shift

(9 hour sleep shift). This is a temporary role, to cover maternity leave, and part time/job share would be considered. There is potential that permanent hours may become available next year following this maternity leave contract, as additional support hours may be required by the client at that stage.

Experience in a similar role is desirable. 

Driving licence and own car essential.

Female applicants only due to the nature of personal care.

This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.

£9.80 per hour rising to £10.61 per hour after successful completion of probation period.

Sleep shifts paid at National Living Wage rates (currently £8.21 per hour).
