ENGIE are recruiting for a Commercial Manager, to be based at Rotherham PFI Schools, Venture House, Spencer Park, Greasbrough Street, Rotherham S60 1RF. This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.

General Overview:

The Commercial Manager will be the commercial resource supporting the operational team within a range of Healthcare and Education contracts and partnerships worth in excess of GBP25m per annum. They will provide contract commercial management services and profit improvement along with focus on compliance. In addition, they may be required to support growth within the Sector on the existing contracts as well as new business development initiatives to extend the suite of contracts in the region.
The Commercial Manager will manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including those with client representatives; ENGIE's operational teams running the Contracts and other colleagues who provide functional support to the contracts (e.g. risk, finance, HR etc.)
As part of the current contract extension process the Commercial Manager will be required to interact with managers of all levels both internally and within our Client organisations. Senior level dialogue and communication skills are essential in fulfilling this role. This role reports directly into the Senior Commercial Manager.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:

To deliver the commercial management function across the partnerships / contracts and clearly communicate the obligations and liabilities contained within both contracts to ultimately ensure that income is maximised, costs are minimised, whilst the service required is delivered, by:

Identifying, monitoring and reporting on risks.

Supporting the management and mitigation of risks at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc).

Improvement in financial performance of the contract through contractual knowledge and improvement

Management of variation/change control to capture revenue.

Repository for confidential/commercially sensitive information.

Leading governance within the contracts to ensure that the requirements of the contract and ENGIE's own internal governance processes are being complied with.

Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all other ENGIE colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc.).

Assisting in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation

Enforcing commercial compliance (by audit and support against ENGIE's Minimum Commercial Standards).

Supporting the management of cash under their contract sector.

To support the development and delivery of compelling commercial proposals to existing and new Clients to persuade them to extend current contracts and enter into new contracts including:

Building strong relationships with senior Client representatives.

Identifying and developing value adding propositions to enhance the services offered / delivered by ENGIE.

Supporting the identification, management and mitigation of risks at all levels associated with such a significant bidding process.

Leading governance within the bidding process contracts to ensure that the company's requirements of the contract are being complied with.

Supporting the Commercial Director / Senior Commercial Manager in the satisfaction of contract and company objectives.

Taking the Commercial lead with clients directly to identify and resolve variations from the contract deliverables.

Participating in the contract extension bid governance processes including presenting to Sector Commitment Committee and UK Commitment Committee.

Negotiating, on an equitable basis, internally and externally to ensure that the business is not exposed to risk.

Leading in all dispute resolution activity in these contracts areas or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity.

Ensuring a contract review and governance framework is embedded on all contracts.

Dealing reactively in mitigation key risk areas as they arise and providing support to Finance and Operations to resolve in a timely manner

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Suitable commercial experience within a similar industry sector

Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Law, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land).

Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc).

Ideally a member or training to be member of a chartered institution.

Excellent communicator

Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy

Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment

Sound understanding of risk analysis/management

PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel

Thorough knowledge and experience of Business Assurance systems
