Our client a well-established healthcare regulator based in central London are recruiting for a Regulation Officer to join their team on an initial 3 month fixed term contract. If the appointed candidate is successful within the role it is likely they will be appointed permanently.

The main purpose of the role is to implement the regulator's fitness to practise and protection of title policies and procedures under the supervision of the Regulation Manager.

The key duties and responsibilities will include:

Respond to concerns raised by members of the public about registrants' fitness to practise and individuals' use of their title
Identify cases that require more in-depth investigation
Liaise with other authorities to secure evident relevant to an investigation
Instruct external investigators to recover relevant evidence
Prepare, with the use of external lawyers, cases for prosecution within the Magistrates' Courts
Prepare cases for consideration by a Screener
Undertake initial and on-going risk assessments
Liaise with witnesses attending hearings
Prepare case papers and collate and organise documentation for consideration by the Investigating Committee
Investigate the allegations made in line with legislative procedures and regulators policies and key performance indicators
To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to have the following experience and skills:

A law degree (or equivalent) is essential
Experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders, including members of the public
Experience of case management and complaint handling
Experience of working within a legal or statutory framework
Ability to plan and organise workload, and manage volumes of cases with demanding timescales and own time effectively
Effective case management skills and experience of working to strict deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A commitment to continuous improvement.
