Are you interested in a career that makes a difference? At Certitude, we are proud of our history of supporting people with complex mental health needs and learning disabilities. We support more than 1500 people in a diverse range of services across London. We employ more than 1000 staff and are committed to their development. With Certitude you have the opportunity to work with incredible people, develop your career and support others to have a good life.

Key to your success will be your ability to build rapport with the people we support, being adaptable and able to develop good relationships with colleagues in each of the services. A strong positive attitude is essential for this position, along with a willingness to undertake various levels of personal care and manual handling, and to make a difference to the lives of those you support.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, especially relating to intensive interaction.

Establishing good relationships with the people you support, you will help people to use a range of person centered planning tools. Working as part of a team, you will work to a support plan in a fast paced environment to meet the outcomes and life style choices of the people you support.

Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours on a flexible shift rota - Mornings, evenings, weekends and 'sleep-ins when needed'.

This service is a female only trauma informed service. It is a specialised service that provides support to people in the Lambeth area. The objective of the service is to take people out of restricted environments, and provide them with individualised support so they can step down into lowered supported accommodation. The type of support provided at this service varies from emotional; budgeting; education employment and training to even areas such as cleaning and cooking. This, of course varies on the individual and the skills that they would like to develop or learn from scratch. Being part of the team, the service has a varied amount of resources which we can tap into such as psychiatrist, psychological and occupation therapist input. Every fortnight staff are involved in reflective practice and workshops run by the psychologist who spends a day each week at the service.

We also have an occupational therapist who spends three days a week at the service. The way this service seems to work is by being forward thinking and working in an asset-based way rather than focussing on people's histories and past behaviours. This by all means by working in such a way that people feel empowered and not judged on their past. If you feel that you would like to make a change and/ or positive impact in someone's life as well as being part of our wonderful, unique team and service please do apply. The future is bright for everyone no matter who they are or what they have been through - this is what we are here to make everyone see and feel.

If you are interested in enriching the lives of the people we support, please take a look at the job description and person specification for further information and apply now!
