Prospero are working closely with a great AV Event Production company based in N.W London.

They are currently looking to expand their Video Department by taking on a new Junior LED and Service Technician.

The ideal person will be responsible for assisting with LED service and repair alongside general video equipment upkeep, service and maintenance. The role will require contacting suppliers to purchase parts for repairs and the packaging of equipment for return to vendors in the event that repairs are unable to be completed in-house.

In addition, the position will involve building and wiring equipment packages which form part of the rental fleet. The candidate will also have the opportunity to progress within the role and have involvement in wider project related tasks and development.

Key activities and responsibilities

* Liaise with The Head of Video, technicians, project management, technical team members, co-ordination and warehouse team to ensure equipment is ready for use and prepared for each events requirement.

* Work with the in-house LED engineer to develop knowledge and understanding

* Understand the LED, camera and PPU systems thoroughly and look to increase knowledge of new systems

* Fault finding

* Wiring

* Source and fit replacement parts

* Assist with general video equipment service

* Package equipment to be sent away for warrantee or specialist repair

* Mainly to be based at the office however there may be times where an onsite presence is required To work methodically, keep work areas clean and tidy and to organise workspace in a sensible fashion

* Ensure all equipment packages are complete and as specified within R2

* Show a pro-active approach to duties

* Other ad-hoc duties as specified by the Head of Video or video management team.

* Keep track of small adapters and accessories required for service and stock, placing orders when necessary

Relationships
You will be required to develop and maintain positive and progressive working relationships both internally and externally, in order to facilitate growth and integration across the business.
In particular regular communication with the Head of Video and other members of the Video department will be required to ensure that equipment is being maintained correctly and also to offer suggestions and implement any improvements which can be made.
A good working relationship with the LED and Projection engineers who perform similar roles in their specialism, offering assistance if required.

It will also be important to communicate with the warehouse staff during equipment prep and return in order to ensure equipment is allocated to the correct jobs and any video equipment found to be faulty is noted and dealt with in a timely fashion.

Salary
This is a full-time role with offering a competitive salary, dependent on experience.

* Hours of work
A 40 hour week working Monday to Friday, typically between the hours of 09:00 - 18:00 (with one hour unpaid lunch).
You may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods in order to meet the demands of the business and including overseas travel as required.

* Annual leave
Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays).
