Job Type: Temporary
Duration of temporary role: Expected to be for 4 months and maybe longer
Working days and hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours, candidates will need to be flexible to work all days Monday to Sunday and varying times
Pay Rate: GBP8.00 to GBP9.00 per hour paye plus holiday or GBP9.20 to GBP10.35 per hour umbrella - Unsociable hours paid at a higher rate.
Duties
* Carry out the duties of a painter in relation to all types of painting.
* Work as an integral part of a maintenance team and have a thorough practical knowledge of all aspects of painting maintenance.
* Work with the Maintenance Team Leader in using the Backtraq/MiCAD (Online Building Maintenance Software) system to receive, update, and close off job requests and update records.
* To undertake routine maintenance redecorations and wash-downs both internally and externally in accordance with Estates programme of works.
* To undertake painting and redecoration works arising from actions contained in RQIA and Infection Control led audits of estates premises.
* Be able to work on his/ her own, on occasions with minimal supervision.
* Carry out his/ her duties to a high standard of workmanship.
* Undertake training as necessary to ensure compliance with trust and statutory requirements as well as keeping up to date with current trends in the construction and hospital environments.
* Demonstrate a basic knowledge of Health & Safety practices and in particular the use of materials (including hazardous materials) and COSHH Regulations.
* Observe Statutory and other relevant requirements, in particular those relating to Health and Safety. Use appropriate tools, equipment and PPE. Carry out mental risk assessments to ensure safety of yourself and others
* Be capable of working at a reasonable height above ground level for purposes of work duties.
* Maintain and effectively use ladders, scaffolding, steps and notify line manager of any defects.
* Carry out cleaning work to uPVC or metal fixtures such as window frames, fascia, soffits, guttering in conjunction with external redecoration.
* Be available to undertake emergency and urgent works which includes working outside normal hours or through breaks from time to time.
* Assist in maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working environment including workshops, plant rooms, stores etc.
Skills and Experience
* Must hold manual handling certificate - We are able to organise this for you if you don't have it.
* Previous painting experience
* Current in date DBS Required (if not held, you will need to apply for this as part of your application process )
