Pattern of Working:

This is a full-time post although flexible working arrangements will be considered, subject to meeting the needs of the Assembly and its Members.

Occasional offsite visits may be required.

Security Clearance: This position has been assessed as requiring a ‘SC’ level of security vetting. For candidates who do not currently possess this level of clearance, appointment would be subject to the successful completion of this level of security vetting.

Purpose of the post:

At the Assembly Commission, we serve the National Assembly for Wales to help facilitate its long-term success as a strong, accessible, inclusive and forward looking democratic institution and legislature that delivers effectively for the people of Wales.  To deliver that, we have 3 key strategic goals:

  • Provide outstanding parliamentary support;
  • Engage with the people of Wales and promote Wales; and
  • Use resources wisely.

In engaging with the people of Wales, the National Assembly for Wales has the privilege of undertaking a range of activities that brings children and young people to the Assembly Estate; whether that be for our Youth Parliament, school visits, Senedd tours, or educational lessons, right through to accompanying their parents and guardians when giving evidence at one of our committees. 

Therefore, we recognise that the welfare and interests of children are paramount in all circumstances and we aim to ensure that regardless of age, gender identity, religion or belief, ethnicity, sex, disability, sexual orientation or socio-economic background, all children and young people have a positive and enjoyable experience in all their engagement with the Assembly.
