Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded engineer, who will be responsible for engineering technical assurance for all aspects of tankage works and more broadly to provide professional, technical and commercial support to infrastructure mechanical assets. They will be required to manage longer term storage tank policy and strategy, and be responsible for the management of capital projects for storage tanks and associated facilities.
The role holder will have responsibility to deliver the capital tankage improvement program for our client. There is also a requirement to provide technical support for revenue spend, ensuring the right scopes, signed off in a timely manner, are in place to enable smooth execution of an extensive tankage overhaul programme. The role extends to approximately 300 tanks across the whole business, with accountability to the Group and the infrastructure leadership team.
About You
Their ideal candidate should be of Chartered Engineering standard or following an approved route to achieve such standards. Strong commercial and contract experience is also essential. The successful individual should have proven experience in a process plant engineering role, with working knowledge of storage tank construction and maintenance methods.
Additional requirements are as follows:
- An awareness and knowledge of petro-chemical process equipment, safety procedures and systems.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills. Awareness of engineering standards and codes (e.g. API, EEMUA, British Standards) and an ability to research and apply
- Ability to apply risk assessment and mitigation techniques effectively
- Demonstrable HSSE focus, with ability to communicate to a diverse contracting group
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate plans and strategy to production units
