A vacancy has arisen for a Hygiene Team Leader (Nights) based at Barway.

This is a new role reporting to the Hygiene Manager with multiple direct reports.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work in line with our group values; Trust, Efficiency, Quality & Expertise and Can-do.
  • To train and supervise a hygiene shift achieving high standards with good attention to detail.
  • Ensure that Company procedures and policies and adhered to at all times and to ensure that suitable communication with relevant parties is maintained.
  • Working alongside the Hygiene Manager and the Hygiene Team to achieve targets and KPIs set and keeping cleaning and periodical documentation in line with customers' and regulatory bodies' current and future needs.
  • Monitor and report chemical effectiveness or any issues of concern.
  • Ensure that provisions such as PPE and tools are well maintained and used in the correct manner.
  • Waste is to be disposed of in accordance with training ensuring segregation between waste materials is maintained.
  • Visual Inspection Audits of the factory areas where hygiene concerns may exist as a result of post-cleaning or where any contamination to the product may occur.
  • Working with the Hygiene Manager to ensure that Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs) are maintained to be relevant and up-to-date with a review.
  • Completing task-based risk assessments and writing procedures for new tasks requiring attention.
  • Providing cover during sickness or holiday for the Hygiene Operatives.
  • Counting and arranging orders of stock items required to meet the business's needs (such as PPE and cleaning chemicals).

The ideal candidate (Experience/Qualifications/Training/Requirements):

  • English literacy and numeracy is required for working with chemicals and the writing and maintaining of hygiene procedures and other documentation.
  • Basic numeracy.
  • Able to follow simple tasks.
  • Focused on attention to detail.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Good timekeeper.
  • Motivated and able to motivate others.

Hours of work: 40 hours over 4 days a week on night shift.
