Here at Reach plc we are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team in Newcastle. We are looking to appoint someone who is AAT qualified, with previous experience of working in a finance department.
Reporting into one of our Management Accountants, the role purpose is to assist in the preparation and provision of management information and insight to colleagues and managers. Working across the regional product portfolio within the management accounts hub, the successful candidate will be joining a high performing team who are committed to providing quality work and supporting each other to achieve deadlines.
This is a brilliant opportunity to join an established and well known business, with professional study support available towards CIMA or ACCA for the successful candidate.
Ideally the successful candidate will be confident in processing month end accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Accruals and prepayments
- Record and analyse key areas of spend to provide insight
- Liaise with remote AP team to resolve issues and assist in providing accurate coding of invoices
- Involvement in budget preparation
- Variance analysis and production of reports
- Balance sheet reconciliation and control
- Support year end preparation and statutory reporting
- Ad hoc provision of information as required
- Preparation of weekly forecasting
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will be AAT qualified as a minimum, ideally currently studying or wishing to study for CIMA or equivalent (study support package available ). Along with this you must possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, be a strong team player and reflect excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
