Job Description


Job Title: Sales Executive

Reports To: Director of Sales

Overall Purpose of Role:

To actively contribute to meeting and exceeding sales targets and profit margins through the management and development of existing and potential corporate business


Sales and Revenue

* Take a proactive approach to locating potential new business through the appropriate media

* Effectively manage of the Hotels consortia clients

* Manage special projects under the direction of the Director of Sales

* Provide quotes in line with the Sales Strategy

* Ensure all opportunities are taken to promote products to our customers and to increase the client base

* Host any promotional events at the Hotel or external site as required

* Actively convert sales calls into client meetings

* Regularly attend Hotel and group sales meetings and discuss/present statistical reports to demonstrate contribution to meeting and exceeding sales targets

Operational and Administrative

* Answer all telephone calls in a polite and professional manner

* Provide customers with all information as requested ensuring follow-up calls are carried out to secure the potential business

* Administer bookings and client details according to Hotel Standards as required

* Maintain an accurate current and potential client base for the purpose of communicating future offers and facilities

* Ensure the privacy of clients by ensuring that information is not divulged to any other than the relevant parties, as per the Data Protection Act 1988.

* Maintain all necessary records and documents legibly and neatly

* Prepare accurate and timely reports as required

* Ensure personal presentation and quality of work is of the highest standards at all times to project a professional image to clients

* Ensure product knowledge on Hotel products and services is up-to-date at all times

* Take responsibility for conducting show rounds of the Hotel facilities as required

Human Resources & Training

* Provide support and coaching to new team members within Sales Team

* Attend training sessions, networking events and seminars in order to maintain and improve professional capabilities

Working Relationships

* Maintain at all times a good liaison and working relationship with colleagues and clients

Key Performance Indicators

* Product knowledge

* Prevention of loss or damage to Hotel guests, employees and property

* Maintenance and improvement of Hotel procedures

* Quality of training given to employees

* Customer retention

* Staff retention

* Quality of audit and administrative procedures
