We are looking for a Lecturer in Independent Living Skills to join the Additional Learning Needs Team, based at our Northop site.
We are looking for someone who has extensive experience working with and supporting students with additional needs. In your role as a Lecturer you will be required to carry out scheduled teaching, prepare learning materials, mark students work, liaise with awarding bodies and participate in curriculum design and development activities.
Acting as a personal tutor, you will provide invaluable educational guidance, support and counselling for students and liaise with tutors from other business areas with regard to resources, curriculum development, student reports and other related matters.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with learners who have additional learning needs, hold a Level 4 qualification in a relevant specialist subject area and possess or be working towards a teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or C&G 7407. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of current developments within Additional Learning Needs in Wales and be an outstanding practitioner of innovative teaching methods.
In addition, it is essential that you are proficient in the use of information systems such as the Internet and Intranets. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be a strong team player and will display energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
The ability to speak fluent Welsh is desirable for this role.
A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful applicant being offered the position and you will be required to register with the Education Workforce Council.
