Duty Officer (Casual)

£10.14 per hour

We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, enthusiastic, have strong interpersonal skills and the desire to make a positive contribution to our service and the wider community.

As part of the Leisure Facilities Team at North Warwickshire Borough Council you will be working as a member of the Leisure Centre Management Team, you will be crucial to the development of this busy and constantly progressing leisure facility.

As cover Duty Officer you will have a broad skill set that will ensure you’re confident in managing specialist areas such as the swimming pool and fitness suite with expertise and proficiency. Your key tasks will include programme development, customer care and retention, marketing, staff development and managing the day-to-day operations of the centre as a whole.

You must have experience of supervising staff and hold a full First Aid certificate, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and Pool Plant Operator Certificate.  An understanding of the leisure industry and the principles of leisure operations would be an advantage as well as an understanding of Health & Safety legislation.

As a casual worker you may be contacted at short notice to work shifts which could include evenings and weekends. Shifts will be predominantly at Atherstone Leisure Complex, but cover may also be required at Polesworth Sports Centre, Coleshill Leisure Centre and The Queen Elizabeth Community Sports Village (Atherstone).

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, as such, appointment will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed.  This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions. An Enhanced Disclosure will be required.
