We currently have a unique and exciting position available for a Senior Manager to manage and develop the Community Learning provision and be the Designated Safeguarding Lead, working for a local authority in Derby. This role is on a 3 month temporary contract initially but it has the potential to become something more long term. Ideally, our client is looking for someone who can start within 1-2 weeks.

The successful candidate will have experience in a leadership position, a thorough understanding of Safeguarding, relevant knowledge and experience in an education and community learning setting and want to make a difference to local people. Candidates will be educated to Degree Level or have equivalent qualifications.

Your role as Senior Manager will involve, but won't be limited to, the following duties:

* Developing the adult community learning curriculum across the service in response to national policy, funding priorities and regulations in order to meet learners' demands.

* Developing, promoting and establishing a new independently funded community learning programme as stand-alone provision.

* Ensuring that the community development, entry level community learning programme and family learning curriculum meet the needs of the most socially and financially disadvantaged adults in Derby.

* Establishing progression routes into further learning and employment beyond community learning.

* Managing the Community Learning Team in accordance with Council procedures and objectives.

* Gathering, analysing and interpreting information relating to the performance of the service with particular reference to recruitment, retention, achievement and success rates and address any areas of under-performance.

* Taking lead responsibility for partnership activity relating to community learning, SEND and safeguarding including the development of and commitment to service level agreements and contracts.

* Liasing with other Council departments to enhance the adult learning offer and contribute to the Council Plan outcomes.

* Leading all aspects of equalities across the Adult Learning Service including implementation of the equalities action plan.

* Acting as the Designated Officer for Safeguarding for the Adult Learning Service to ensure that all learners are safe and feel safe.

* Delivering training related to equalities, safeguarding and Prevent to all staff and monitor records of participation.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, between 9:00am-17:00pm. This role is paying a rate of around GBP20 per hour, dependant on experience.
