Job Role - Pre-Press Operator / Technician - Litho/ Digital
Salary - GBP18K - GBP22K
Location - Calmore, Southampton
Main Purpose of Job:
*The primary role of a Pre-Press Technician is to ensure that customer requirements are understood and correctly interpreted. This will include ensuring that correct imposition techniques are applied.
*To prepare files for all output devices.
*Provide support to the production team by handling the processing of data and information through a series of pre-defined processes and procedures.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
*Send and receive digital files including proofs.
*Control the use of variable data with digital print machines.
*Plan work to meet production requirements.
*Manage monochrome and colour digital workflows.
*To create finished work meeting all customer requirements following ISO9001 procedures with zero defects and spoilage and achieving specified levels of productivity.
*To work as a team member, supporting other members as required, and contributing to the process of continually improving work methods and techniques.
*To undertake self-checking and monitoring of work produced, using own initiative to ensure quality and specification conformance.
*Promote and maintain Health and Safety in a print related work environment.
*To create finished work meeting all customer requirements with zero defects and spoilage and achieving specified levels of productivity.
*To be able to work alone using own initiative to resolve operational issues, and contributing to the process of continually improving work methods and techniques.
*To undertake self-checking and monitoring of work produced, using own initiative to ensure quality and specification conformance.
Experience
*Experience of working in an imposition role using Fuji XMF or a similar system for a printing company essential.
*An understanding of folding patterns, binding styles and pre-flight essential.
*Experienced within Pre-Press role within the Litho/ Digital Print industry
