Training Officer - Mechanical Engineering 
Manchester, Greater Manchester (office/field based, with travel throughout the UK, Ireland and as far afield as India)

They are now looking for a Training Officer to join their team in Manchester.

Your Role 

As a Training Officer, you will be tasked with handling the training and development of our client’s personnel across all sites in the UK, Republic of Ireland and other sites overseas including India. 

You will ensure that all staff are trained to the highest possible standard in their specific business areas and they are equipped with the knowledge and practical skills to carry out their activities accurately and safely. 

Your role will also involve: 

- Taking a strategic approach to training needs to ensure the most positive impact 
- Delivering training to both employees and customers as required 
- Travelling throughout the regions out client operates in to perform training and engineer assessments 
- Designing and expanding training programmes 
- Working with managers and supervisors to produce training courses 
- Planning and assessing the return of investment of training and development 
- Producing in-house training courses 

As part of your role, you may be required to work some weekends and out of hours work. As such, a flexible approach to working hours will be essential. 

About You 

To be considered as a Training Officer, you will need: 

- To be a competent time served technician in a mechanical/electrical discipline, preferably with around three years’ experience 
- Considerable skills and in-depth knowledge of gas and/or diesel engines 
- Effective IT skills and competency in the use of Microsoft Office packages 
- Effective presentation skills with the ability to deliver training to a large audience 
- At a minimum, to be qualified to ONC/D, NVQ Level 3 or hold City & Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering or motor vehicle studies 
- A full, valid driving licence

This role would be suitable for someone who has previously held the role Technician, Time Served Technician, Automotive Technician, Vehicle Technician, Mechanical Technician, Electrical Technician, or Engineer.
