We are looking for an Events and Fundraising Assistant (to be employed on a short-term contract) to start ASAP and hit the ground running. The successful candidate will be support the Fundraising and Events Manager with the delivery of our Challenge, Gala and Community Fundraising Events Portfolio, as well as providing support for our Christmas e-card campaign. Each of these income streams provide valuable unrestricted income for the charity.
Main duties and responsibilities
Challenge Events Portfolio Support
Provide support for our existing portfolio of charity challenge events such as bike rides, runs and swims, ensuring we meet income targets. Tasks to include:
Administration: Ensure booking of events and that participants are supported with logistical and fundraising information.
Fundraising Support: Ensure that participants achieve agreed fundraising goals.
Challenge Event Communications: Drafting of challenge event communications, with the aim of promoting our existing portfolio of events, recruiting fundraisers, and celebrating our fundraisers. To include: drafting engaging content for social media, our website and newsletter.
Gala and Community Fundraising Events Portfolio Support
Provide support for Renewable World's current commitments to run and support the raffle at the Scottish Green Energy Awards (Gala Event) and our community fundraising portfolio. Tasks to include:
Support for the Scottish Green Energy Awards Raffle: including sourcing raffle prizes from existing and new donors, organising logistics for a team to attend the event, thanking raffle donors and drafting event related comms.
Existing community fundraising support/events: including supporting any community fundraising events that take place.
Christmas E-card Campaign Support
Provide support on the promotion of this fundraising campaign and the generation of e-card orders. Tasks to include:
Comms: promoting the Christmas card campaign across our comms channels (social media, website, securing external coverage of the campaign)
Targeted promotion: contacting a list of potential donors (phone and email communication)
E-card order management: manage and track all e-card orders: from choosing a design, liaising with the designer and coordinating payment of the donation
Record keeping: maintain a log of all contact made with potential donors and all orders secured (on excel and on our database)
Developing the campaign for individuals: research into how we can develop this campaign for our individual supporters
General Administration
Support general office administration: including sorting and sending post, answering calls, responding to queries, managing folders and files, clear internal communications and other similar duties.
Other tasks as appropriate: and as agreed with the Fundraising and Events Manager.

Knowledge, experience, skills and competences
Essential
Highly organised with excellent coordination skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to draft engaging content
An excellent eye for detail and ability to meet deadlines with accurate work
Fast learner and willingness to acquire new skills and knowledge as necessary (e.g. website content management; database manipulation)
Excellent IT skills across Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Desirable
Demonstrable work experience in a relevant role which includes at least some of the above role responsibilities
??Understanding of social media channels and experience in developing audience specific content
Attitude and approach
Essential
??Positive, "can-do" attitude - we need someone who can hit the ground running
Keen to learn
Qualifications

Experience of using WordPress, the Adobe suite, Salesforce and Mailchimp
Must have the right to work in the UK.
