An exciting opportunity for a Lead Engineer who will work within our clients Innovation Team.
??Develop new product ideas from concept to production in line with the Innovation process.
??Self-management of projects; including planning.
??Lead new product introductions in line with the Flawless Launch Process.
??Lead new business opportunities.
??Generate CAD concepts.
??Generate detailed 3D and 2D CAD data for manufacturing.
??Lead and participate in Design and Drawing Reviews.
??Conduct design for manufacture, tolerance analysis, DFMEA's, vehicle package clearance analysis.
??Conduct initial feasibility studies (prototyping and testing).
??Lead prototype activities; including customer prototype builds, external supplier co-ordination and in-house 3D printing.
??Liaise with Customer and suppliers as required; including on-site visits where necessary.
??Liaise with cross-functional departments during development phases.
??Co-ordination with teams in other locations, including China, Japan and US
??Perform simulation studies where required.
??Creation of design guidelines for components and systems.
What the company are seeking in the successful candidate: -
??Have a Degree in Engineering or a comparable education.
??Be open to international or domestic travel.
??Strong communication skills.
??Experience working with global customers.
??Experience within the automotive industry.
??Knowledge and experience of plastic mouldings.
??CATIA experience is preferable.
