An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Planning Officer to join our client's Strategy & Public Affairs team.

The Strategy and Public Affairs team will work closely with Communications and Marketing and Business Assurance to ensure the organisation is well informed in order to deliver its corporate priorities and is able to plan ahead, leading with best practice and market intelligence and positioning the business with the right leaders and influencers.

They are an ambitious and well-established housing group with deep roots in their three heartland areas of Liverpool, St Helens and Warrington.

One of the largest landlords in the North West, we have 1,500 staff, manage more than 40,000 homes, support around than 64,000 customers and invest at least GBP5m a year into local communities and life changing causes.

A social organisation with a commercial focus generating income to drive their activities and deliver lasting change, our client is a landlord, property developer, commercial contractor and social entrepreneur.

This is an important role in which you will:

  • Analyse and assess how policy insight and evidence based research can help leaders plan activity to achieve corporate objectives and outcomes in line with the Corporate Plan.

  • Advise leaders across the business, supporting strategic and tactical implementation planning activities by providing meaningful insight and analysis relating to short, medium and longer-term strategic deliverables.

  • Prepare analysis reports, including growth and new business plans, scenario options and process improvement practices across the spectrum of the group's activities.

  • Ensure that appropriate insight is incorporated into the group's policy development and support the organisation to become a thought leader, providing insight, intelligence and analysis to aid decision-making.

  • Advise on business cases and commercial or fundraising bids, and evaluate potential strategic opportunities to enhance services in line with group objectives

To be successful in this role, you will be educated to degree level or possess relevant experience in managing and/or participating in a corporate market intelligence and/or strategic advisory function within a large-scale organisation.

You will be expected to take responsibility for your own workload and possess the necessary skills to be able to influence, inspire others and encourage innovation to ensure that objectives are delivered and deadlines are met.

Excellent communication skills will be paramount in order to be able to communicate to a range of audiences, together with strong writing and team working skills.
