 Job description

The ECDS provides individuals with an excellent introduction into Estimating. With a highly competitive starting salary, excellent benefits and dedicated expert trainers, this scheme offers a supportive and structured career pathway into the MOD and its delivery agencies.

About CAAS
CAAS has a proud heritage which dates back over 100 years to World War One when it was formed to prevent the munitions industry from overcharging the Government. The complexities of equipment procurement forced the government at the time to recruit its own technical cost engineers into the Civil Service, to advise commercial colleagues what non-competed contract prices should be paid to industry. This forms the heart of the purpose of CAAS.

The Role
CAAS as the Cost Management lead within MOD, is looking to build on its current numbers of Estimators to further expand and develop the capability within defence.

Successful candidates will be assigned a Normal Duty Station (NDS) at one of the locations advertised (Bristol, Corsham, Sutton Coldfield, Manchester, Barrow, Rosyth, Plymouth, Portsmouth or London ) with the potential to undertake placements at other locations.

It is expected that all staff will work full time and be available for regular training in Bristol for the first 6 months of the scheme. After this alternative working patterns will be considered.

The 2-year pathway provides a balanced mix of work placements across CAAS; on the job training; mentoring and formal training to become a practitioner and leading to a level of expertise that will position you well within the business to further your career in Estimating.
