£20,344 - £21,166 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Streetworks Management Team of the Communities Directorate who are seeking a Streetworks Inspector with knowledge and experience of working in a highway Network environment. This is an ideal opportunity to expand your knowledge of the maintenance requirements of the highway asset, and ensure that the work undertaken by Statutory Undertakers is undertaken in accordance with the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991. Ensuring reinstatements are completed correctly, works are undertaken safely and that any necessary disruption to the network is kept to a minimum.

The role will require an understanding of the highway, its role within a community, reinstatement requirements and requirements of safe working practices within the Highway network.

The role will require you to:

• To undertake ‘Random Sample Inspections’ in accordance with The New Roads and Street Works Act Code of Practice for Inspections        
• To undertake ‘Defect Inspections’ in accordance with The New Roads and Street Works Act Code of Practice for Inspections
• Dealing with problems associated with defective utility apparatus in the highway
• Meeting Statutory Undertakers Representatives on site in order to assist in the planning of street works in accordance with the requirements of The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and The Traffic Management Act 2004
• Meeting Statutory Undertakers Representatives on site and liaising with statutory undertaker’s representatives in order to ensure that instances of poor quality workmanship and non-compliance with safety requirements are rectified within the required timescales.
• Assisting The Street Works Manager in the monitoring and management of Street Works and other licensable activities in the highway
• Investigating and dealing with complaints and enquiries from members of the public and Bridgend County Borough Members.

The applicant must have experience in undertaking the duties identified in this pack. You will need to have good arithmetical skills and must be able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, external companies and members of the public.

• Ymdrin â phroblemau sy'n gysylltiedig â chyfarpar cyfleustodau diffygiol yn y briffordd
• Cyfarfod â Chynrychiolwyr Ymgymerwyr Statudol ar y safle er mwyn cynorthwyo â chynllunio gwaith stryd yn unol â gofynion Deddf Ffyrdd Newydd a Gwaith Stryd 1991 a Deddf Rheoli Traffig 2004

• Ymchwilio i gwynion ac ymholiadau gan aelodau o'r cyhoedd ac Aelodau o Fwrdeistref Sirol Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr ac ymdrin â'r cwynion hyn.
