Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Finance Apprentice to work in their Finance, Procurement and payroll department, based at Service Headquarters in Aylesbury.

Salary GBP15,107 per annum
2 Year Fixed Term Contract
The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team delivering financial/management accounting support, payroll, procurement, treasury management, maintaining and improving our finance system and processes, as well as accounts payable and receivable.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to use IT systems in a wide range of applications, the ability to work to time sensitive deadlines with high order attention to detail, be able to work well on their own as well as part of a team, possess good communication and inter personal skills and have high levels of integrity, honesty, reliability and confidentiality.
This post will encompass a wide range of responsibilities as outlined in the attached Job Description.
What are the entry requirements?
To be eligible to apply for this role, you will need to have GCSE's in Maths and English A* - C/4-9 (or equivalent). You will need to also possess the following attributes:
- A 'Can Do' attitude
- A keen interest in Fire and Rescue Services
- A willingness to learn
- The ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
- The ability to work in a team environment
Initially based at Service Headquarters in Aylesbury, the candidate may be required to work across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes and thus a UK driving license will be preferable.
Support Staff are currently required to work a 37 hour week, Monday - Friday.
What certification will you achieve?
AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Book Keeping
AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting
How will I be assessed during the apprenticeship scheme?
You will be assessed in a variety of ways which could include:
- formal external courses and examinations
- on the job observations
- evidence of your duties / tasks performed
- reports from mentors and managers
- production of an e-portfolio of evidence
- end point assessment
What happens after the apprenticeship?
At the end of the apprenticeship scheme, we will work closely with you to identify the next steps, this could include:
- a job within Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes Fire Authority
- further or higher education
