An exciting opportunity has become available with a large healthcare organisation based in the North West, my client is looking for an expert in Manual Handling including training, policies and processes related.

Main Responsibilities:

Act as the organisations specialist expert on manual handling matters to include provision of evidence-based advice and training to all staff groups, to include the implementation of relevant organisational Policies;
Actively coordinate and participate in moving and handling related audits;
Provide reports and recommendations to the Health and Safety Committee on a regular basis;
Liaise with the relevant Departments to ensure that the moving and handling equipment within the organisation has been maintained in accordance with Policy and current legislation;
Assist staff in the completion of manual handling risk assessments;
Support the formulation of policy and procedures related to moving and handling;
Maintain and develop one's own professional knowledge and expertise;
Provide specialist advice, instruction and competency-based training to all levels of staff across the organisation;
Develop and deliver high quality and relevant moving and handling training programmes and training literature;
Responsible for the provision and delivery of statutory and mandatory manual handling training;
Actively participate, demonstrate and problem solve moving and handling issues related to both patient and non-patient handling tasks;
A successful candidate will have:

A moving and handling Training Qualification e.g. Train the trainers, ROSPA Safer People
Handling trainers Course;
Degree or equivalent experience in manual handling, can be a clinician (do not need active PIN) or Member of National Back Exchange;
Experienced in writing materials, delivering and evaluating the impact of formal training to all levels of staff, within an NHS or healthcare setting only;
Familiarity with current manual handling equipment, sound knowledge of relevant legislation;
Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to work alongside and influence staff and change at all levels of the organisation.
