Due to the upcoming retirement of the current post holder, an exciting opportunity has become available at Cardiff Council. We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and passionate Team Manager, to be based in Learning Disability Services.  You will manage a social work team which has close links with specialist health colleagues.  This is an exciting time to join a service which puts the individual at the heart of our work.

We focus on the strengths of the people we work with and seek opportunities to support people to feel valued and included in their communities.  We are committed to enabling people with learning disabilities to maximise independence, choice and control and to support them to live their lives the way they want to. 

We are looking for a person with a strong value base, who is committed to a strength based practice approach and who is passionate about working alongside people with learning disabilities, families and communities to bring about change and generate positive outcomes.

To join our management team, it is essential that you have a Diploma/Degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, and full professional registration. You will need to have at least 4 years social work experience. If you feel that you have excellent leadership skills, the experience and enthusiasm to promote best practice and keep staff motivated, then we are keen to hear from you.

In return you will be provided with regular supervision and support, learning and development opportunities and the chance to shape the future delivery of services to adults with a learning disability within Cardiff.
