Working as part of the Finance team and reporting into the Purchasing Manager, the Junior Buyer will take responsibility for the strategic purchasing of services and goods for key sourcing categories required by the operations function of the business with the support and under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager. This will require sourcing of products and services from existing or new suppliers and liaising with suppliers on a regular basis to ensure service level agreements are met. The role will require travelling to European locations including Netherlands, Ireland, Germany and Portugal.

The ideal candidate should be a passionate, dynamic and positive Graduate who is comfortable with change and wants to make a difference to the continuous improvement of the business processes. The Junior Buyer is thus expected to work in a process driven manner which supports the growing role of the Purchasing function in the business and the standardisation of the key Purchasing categories whilst delivering process efficiencies and cost saving. Responsiveness and proactiveness are key attributes required in this role.

Following the implementation of a new ordering system (Concur), SACO’s sourcing is now centralised whilst the responsibility of day-to-day ordering sits with each of the SACO locations. The Junior Buyer is thus expected to work extensively with the Purchasing Manager and various departments including the Operations department (Apartment Managers, Area Managers, Ops Director and Central Ops Team) to ensure the sourcing of strategic goods and services meets the quality standard and it is done efficiently and in a timely manner.
