Senior Ecologist - Leeds
An excellent opportunity has arisen in Yorkshire for a talented Senior Ecologist to join a prestigious multidisciplinary consultancy. Our client are a leading consultancy firm offering specialist project solutions across a broad range of environmental and engineering sectors.
As a Senior Ecologist, your duties will encompass the delivery of high-quality professional services and advice. This will include forming and maintaining strong business relationships with clients, ecology team members and the wider multidisciplinary team.
This role is partially site-based, and partially office-based; specific duties may include:
* Leading ecological field surveys.
* Analysing survey results and writing appropriate reports and documents (e.g. appraisals, chapters, EIA's and licence applications).
* Planning and implementing mitigation/habitat management schemes.
* Project management of all aspects of small to medium sized projects.
* Line management and mentoring junior team members.
* Preparing fee proposals and engaging in business development strategies.
Successful candidates for this position will hold:
* A degree in Ecology or a related environmental discipline.
* Hold at least one protected species licence (GCN highly desirable, Bat advantageous) and experience of protected species licence applications.
* Strong field skills and demonstrable knowledge of relevant wildlife and planning legislation.
* Experience of undertaking Environmental Impact Assessments.
* Confident in managing projects to completion.
* Experience of managing a small team and mentoring junior staff.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and experience preparing high-quality reports.
* CIEEM membership.
* A full, clean UK driving licence.
