Operations Manager GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 basic (depending on experience) + other benefits



My client is a well-established and highly successful Recycling Company. Due to their continued success, they are now seeking an experienced Operations Manager who will be responsible for the smooth daily running of all operations within the business ensuring compliance within all legislations regarding waste management, company policy and all aspects of health and safety within the facility.


* To provide effective management of the day to day operations for the receipt and processing of wastes and recyclables from customers in accordance with company procedures and regulatory consents.

* Setting department objectives/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and review and assess ongoing performances.

* To achieve agreed financial and operational objectives.

* Implementing business transformations and continuous improvement strategies

* Manage the company's facility and operators in line with the operational plans and regularly report on progress.

* Ensure full compliance with regulatory consents.

* Ensure that all maintenance is up to date in order to reduce plant downtime.

* Maintain discipline and motivation including the identification of all training and employee development requirements.

* Work to company's Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety policies for all operational activities.

* Daily meetings with the all operatives to review previous production and operational issues.

* Implement and monitor the current operation and provide a safe and compliant service.

* Staff Management - maintain a highly motivated and productive team through identifying training and development needs.

* Ensure that all staff are trained to use the equipment as agreed by management.


* Good understanding of the recycling and waste industry.

* Operational experience within a processing/recycling or waste facility.

* Good communication skills and a good team worker.

* Man Management skills.

* Accident investigation and disciplinary investigations skills or experience.

* Ability to complete risk assessments and safe working procedures.

* Flexible working.

* Must be able to make decisions unaided.

* Problem solving along with good computer skills.
