The role

Mears Group is currently searching for an Electrical Manager to be responsible for monitoring, supervising and ensuring the delivery of all aspects of day-to-day repairs, programmed servicing, minor works and installations in relation to electrical works within Housing Client properties, ensuring teams operate to Mears defined branch standards, delivering best in class customer service, whilst satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards relating to budget, profitability and resource deployment.

Accountabilities

Management of all aspects of operational and commercial delivery and contractual performance in line with contractual commitments, and agreed company & client protocols, time frames, budget & cash flow, with a specific emphasis on electrical compliance.
Ensure compliancy and adherence to, but not limited to, health & safety regulations, Mears standard operating procedures & values, quality assurance accreditations. Demonstrate, maintain and monitor the company's commitment to best practice with legislation, codes of practice & good working practices relevant to all work activities.
Management of direct labour resources and supply chain, identifying opportunities to increase productivity and demonstrate savings, working with the group Procurement Team to maximise the benefit of national procurement agreements and new innovation.
Management of client programmed servicing programmes ensuring all checks are completed within the agreed client timescales and suitable evidence collected to demonstrate compliance.
Cultivate a positive, customer focused culture that is instilled and promoted across all work / programme activities via Mears Red Thread. Ensure this is actively demonstrated by staff in a professional approach to communicating with all stakeholders, through appearance of sites, company ID, condition of vehicles and the maintenance of high health & safety standards.
Adherence to and completion of company & client reporting protocols within required timescales, ensuring attainment of high levels of satisfaction with performance delivery and that contractual KPI targets are achieved in accordance with agreed standard operating procedures.
Manage employees' performance, coach and develop individual in their roles. Protect all company assets supplied, ensuring applicable HR Policies & Procedures are followed, with assets maintained in a good condition, as per company protocols and report/s made to Manager where damages occur.
Cultivate a strong working relationship with clients, service users and local communities, managing client expectation, attending meetings where required, and assisting in business development activities and the preparation of bids.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

Must be qualified to at least 17th edition, with desire to achieve18th edition.
Must be fully conversant with EICR testing requirements.
Proven track record of electrical repairs, programmed servicing, repairs and installations management & delivery
Previous experience of commercial and performance management.
Ability to manage multiple sites & contracts.
A track record of working in a customer focused environment.
Experience of contract/project management including:
Motivating & inspiring a diverse workforce;
Building & maintaining a strong control environment incorporating business governance, risk management processes (registers and BCP) and adherence to Scheme of Delegated Authority (SODA).
Health & safety knowledge, including COSHH.
Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with others.
Adaptable to changing circumstances and able to change styles to suit different requirements, people and situations.
Demonstrable experience of planning, prioritising and consistently delivering work to a high standard and by the required deadline.
Sector H&S regulations.
Full, current driving licence

Desirable:

ILM accreditation/s or L4 Leadership & Management.
IOSH or other H&S qualification.
Experience of working in social housing and in partnership with a local authority client.
