About Us

Kidney Wales is a forward-thinking charity dedicated to combatting kidney disease. We promote excellence in renal research and provide a high level of support to patients and their families.

Having recently realigned our mission and objectives for the coming years, we are now looking for an inspirational Managing Director to build on our strong foundations and drive our strategy.

Your Role

As the Managing Director, you will oversee the smooth running of our organisation.

In this important role, you will lead and engage the team, providing strong direction and motivating them to perform at their best. 

Additionally, you will: 

- Manage the financial health of the charity 
- Represent Kidney Wales when meeting with our partners, supporters and the media 
- Promote our strategic aims and increase awareness of our brand 
- Ensure we have a governance structure that facilitates continuous improvement, compliance and resilience 

About You

To join us as our Managing Director, you will need: 

- Senior leadership experience in the public or not-for-profit sector, managing multiple business areas and reporting to board level 
- A track record of managing change and building organisational resilience 
- Experience of working with charities and within the third sector, in a commercial or volunteer capacity 
- Knowledge and first-hand experience of inspirational leadership techniques that drive innovation and autonomy within a team and promote trust and transparency 
- An in-depth understanding of the key challenges facing the third sector, with experience of delivering progressive strategies
- Clear exposure to budget management and strategic income generation
