As our Technical Pricing Analyst you will deliver the technical pricing strategy to ensure VitalityHealth is at the forefront of the market resulting in achievement of volume and value objectives

Responsibilities as our Technical Pricing Analyst include:

- Delivers the technical pricing strategy/approach to significantly enhance the technical pricing of the portfolio.

- Works closely with the Data Science team to enhance technical pricing models by implementing cutting edge statistical modelling techniques into technical pricing models, refreshing analyses at agreed intervals.

- Works closely with the Data Science team to embed insights from Clinical Risk, the Vitality programme and external datasets into technical pricing models.

- Delivers enhancements to our technical pricing capability through the exploration of new rating factors and micro segmentation.

- Delivers enhancements to the customer lifetime value model, working closely with the Market Pricing team.

- Delivers demand models, including utilising new internal and external data, refreshing analyses at agreed intervals.

- Works closely with the Market Pricing team to understand the potential for new or revised technical pricing models to be incorporated into market pricing.

- Presents insight to key stakeholders in the Pricing Team.

- Builds relationships with other analysts to share best practice.

Skills and Experience required of our Technical Pricing Analyst:

Essential

- Degree in mathematical/statistics based subject

- Statistical modelling experience

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong ability to analyse problems and develop structured solutions.

- Full IT literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint.

Desirable

- Member of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), with some exams passed

- Experience of working in a general insurance company, ideally in pricing

- Experience of Earnix or Emblem pricing software

- Experience and understanding of GLMs and machine learning techniques

- SQL skills

- R and Python coding skills
