Trainee buildings trade technician

Rainbow International carry out full restoration and building services for Insurance companies mainly after water and smoke damage. You will be assisting our Buildings manager, who is a skilled restoration technician and builder. You will work with  this manager and other skilled tradespeople to help carry out the buildings clearance work and help carry out the full buildings renovation and maintenance. 95% of the work is internal work. You will help our technicians carry out other restoration work such as : carrying out emergency work,  assessment of the damage for insurance company clients, carry out  all the clear up and the cleaning of the property and also help set up a drying regime in that property. Also you may carry out some furniture removals work,  packing of customer contents & even some cleaning. Other services that you will get involved with will be : uplifting fixed flooring, taking out kitchen units, and taking down damaged ceilings etc. You will also learn to clean carpets, and learn how to dry buildings. The job is extremely varied and rewarding with everyday a different challenge. We work is throughout South Wales and the Bristol areas. You will travel to jobs as part of a team. The work is often physically demanding and sometimes there is the need to work extra hours during busy periods. The work is mainly Monday to Friday ( 40 hours) but there may be some overtime weekend work.  All uniform, PPE, and full training provided. You will need a full driving licence and be keen to progress with formal training courses.  We will expect the candidate to be prepared and keen to learn and  progress. You need to be a hard worker, be prepared to work as part of a team. You work in customers houses and commercial premises and deal with customers so you will need to be fluent in English. No previous experience is needed but a practical type person quick to learn new skills is a must. We will also consider applicants who are also doing some ongoing college training on a 1 day per week day release and therefore working 32 hours.

You will be a permanent employee not a sub contractor and your contract will be for 32-40 as mutually agreed.
