The Scheme Compliance Unit provides support to all operational and business teams to ensure activities are compliant the scheme rules, pensions regulations and legislation. An opportunity has arisen for a Scheme Compliance Officer to join the team based in Liverpool.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide timely and accurate advice about areas of the Civil Service Pension Schemes and related Compensation and Injury Benefits Schemes
  • Resolve high level complex casework, technical referrals, complaints management and monitoring and Internal Dispute Resolution correspondence
  • Support the operational business in ensuring compliance with all pensions rules, regulations and legislation both calculations and processes
  • Work collaboratively and in partnership with stakeholders using their knowledge and understanding of pensions and related issues
  • Represent the organisation at various forums, establishing effective working relationships with key personnel within MyCSP
  • Provide support for projects, communications and training teams in MyCSP
  • Contribute towards the quality and compliance process, through the checking of casework where appropriate
  • Provide technical support to other team members
  • Carry out projects and ad-hoc activities as determined by the Team Manager

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • In depth knowledge of relevant Pension/Injury Benefit/Compensation Schemes and their administration
  • Numerate, articulate, excellent attention to detail, good grammatical skills and able to present complex information in plain English
  • Able to persuade and influence others to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Experience of dealing with stakeholder groups/external organisations
  • Analytical thinker with an enquiring mind

Desirable

  • APMI or equivalent relevant experience or qualification
  • Pensions technical/compliance experience
  • Complaint handling/IDR experience
  • Retirement provision Certificate/FPC/QPA
  • Active APMI student
  • A good working knowledge of pensions administration software
