Our client, a manufacturing business based in Leicester, is currently looking to recruit a Head of Operations on a permanent basis.

Role Purpose
To plan, organise, direct and run optimum daily operations that maximise production and increases asset capacity and flexibility whilst minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining the required quality, regulatory and H&S standards.

Core Responsibilities
Production
* Contribute to and carry out production strategy and operational decisions
* Create and implement plans to increase production output, product quality and on-time shipping
* Work on the factory floor to oversee staff and make sure both equipment and staff are operating at maximum efficiency
* Analyse factory production data and devise improvement strategies as necessary
* Develop and monitor key production metrics that track and optimise productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to identify and trigger corrective action before major issues arise
* Develop the systems and processes, as needed, to ensure effective return on assets
* Regularly create production data reports and present them to the Directors to inform ongoing business management activities
* Liaise with the relevant roles to manage budget maintenance schedules and quality of products

Workforce Management
* Ensure staff are performing their assigned tasks by keeping them capable and motivated
* Monitor and review staff performance/productivity
* Develop and roll out training that enables all staff to work across all factory machines to ensure business continuity
* Ensure effective allocation of resources by managing agreed shift patterns to achieve maximum production output
* Regularly review staffing levels and support recruitment of new staff as required
* Work with staff to implement the company's policies and goals

Quality Control
* Maintain, create (where needed) and enforce Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures
* Implement the standard quality control processes and ensure staff work to established standards
* Create (as needed) and implement Machine Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures
* Create a maintenance schedule for every machine and ensure staff are aware of this
* Maintain, create (where needed) and ensure all staff commit to factory Health and Safety procedures

Key Measures
* Maximising start to finish production output
* Maximising efficiency's and cost savings through effective deployment of resources

Salary: £30,000 to £33,000 + Company vehicle
Holiday: 25 days + Statutory
