Are you a lover of technology? Got a passion for IT? Perhaps you are a dedicated gamer? If you are the one your family and friends turn to for a tech fix and you are looking to get into a career in IT, this is the role you’ve been waiting for.

The Company

Our client is a dynamic IT support company focused on providing continuous uptime to the restaurant, entertainment and wide hospitality industry.

Firmly at the forefront of this niche sector, they have partnered with Microsoft, Cisco and HP and have strong relationships with some of the biggest solution providers serving the restaurant sector.

They’re now looking for an IT Helpdesk Trainee to take on an exciting entry level position packed with great training and the chance to gain industry-standard qualifications.

Your Rewards

- Salary of up to £17,000
- 28 days’ annual leave including Bank Holidays

In this exciting entry-level role, you will discover that our client provides outstanding support and all the training you need to make a success of your role.

You’ll be working in a relaxed, fun and sociable environment undertaking on-the-job training and learning as you go from experienced professionals. There’s a break room where you can relax on a sofa and talk gaming with your colleagues, the team love to go on nights out for dinner and drinks with the occasion bowling session thrown in, and there’s always something going on after work, be it online or in person.

Our client’s customer base is mostly in the hospitality sector, so you won’t take calls from screaming lawyers or bankers who want everything done ‘yesterday’ and you won’t find a suit in sight in the office.

What's more, once into your role, if you wish to gain qualifications, the company will sponsor you through your professional exams to gain Microsoft or CompTIA certifications.

Your Role

As an IT Helpdesk Trainee, once you have completed and adequate level of initial training, you will be tasked with providing IT support to customers.

As part of a front-line team, you will log incidents and requests and aim to resolve around 60% of issues and queries via the phone.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

- Installing computer hardware, operating systems and applications
- Remotely monitoring customers’ systems and networks
- Resolving and diagnosing issue remotely, via the phone or at customers’ sites
- Responding to call-outs within agreed timescales
- Building relationships with customers

About You

To be considered as an IT Helpdesk Trainee, you will need:

- A passion for technology
- Great problem-solving skills
- A strong focus on customer service
- A close attention to detail

If you are an amazing communicator, both verbally and written, with some great IT core skills then it would be ideal to have GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English at grade C or above but by no means essential. Preferably candidates would also have GCSEs in IT or ICT as well.

Other organisations may call this role IT Trainee, IT Support Assistant, Helpdesk Assistant, Trainee Helpdesk Technician, IT Apprentice, IT Assistant, Trainee 1st Line Support Technician, Trainee Support Technician, or Junior Support Desk Technician.
