Consultant Ecologist - York
My client is a leading, multi-disciplinary Consultancy that specialises in providing Environmental, Planning and Engineer services. They were originally established in the early 2000s and have grown into a well-established team with over 5 offices operating within the UK and further. The ecology team provides Habitat Surveys, Protected Species Mitigation and Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA). They are currently searching for a Consultant Ecologist to join the team in York.
To achieve this role, it is required that you have:
A minimum of 3 years' relevant consultancy experience;
Project management experience;
Good Extended Phase 1 habitat and/or protected species survey skills;
A protected species licenses or be working towards achieving one;
Good report writing skills;
Competency in common software packages such as MS Office, QGIS or similar;
A Full / Associate Membership of CIEEM or be eligible to apply.
A current UK driving license.
During your time at this role you will be:
Supporting liaison with project managers and clients on the delivery of ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects;
Organising and carrying out desk studies and field-based habitat, botanical, protected and non-native invasive species surveys.
Safe delivery of protected species and habitat surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies;
Performing the role of an Ecological Clerk of Works on construction projects;
Adaptable and flexible approach to work to meet peaks in demands (as all roles are likely to involve occasional longer/and or unsociable hours and a degree of working away from home for days/ weeks at a time)
