From repairs and maintenance to major works and projects, the Trust's Building Profession within our internal Consultancy is at the forefront of their care. As an Assistant Building Surveyor role you'll provide support to colleagues in all aspects of building surveying.
The South Wales portfolios are rich in culture, historic significance and folklore with varied compliance obligations. These range from Aberdulais Tin Works and Waterfall, Llanerchaeron, Tredegar House, Dyffryn Gardens, Stackpole, Tudor Merchants House along with many residential let properties
You'll bring your commitment to developing theoretical knowledge and experience to the maintenance and repairs at our properties. Assisting in a consultancy service, you'll respond to requests for information, advice and hands-on support to meet the needs and demands of your clients, including our tenants. This will give you the opportunity to assist with all aspects of building surveying work including areas such as the co-ordination of building condition surveys, preparation of specifications and drawings.
You'll develop knowledge of managing risk and compliance and with your passion for conservation and sustainability you'll champion our work.
This role is a two year training and development role expected to lead to full professional recognition as a Building Surveyor with either RICS or CIOB
You will be working towards relevant professional qualification e.g. Chartered Surveyor MRICS, MCIOB. We want to help you develop a career with us, in order to be successful in this role you'll need to have:
- RICS Accredited degree/ qualification in Building Surveying or Building Conservation/ Construction.
- Theoretical knowledge of relevant legislative requirements relating to the role.
- A clear client focus, with excellent listening, communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to build strong working relationships across your region.
- Desire to develop a knowledge of building conservation, maintenance and repair.
- Able to demonstrate expertise in data handling and the production of technical information.
- A methodical approach to data collection, recording, retrieval and working accurately to deadlines.
Application Information Due to some travel within South Wales, you'll need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
