Calibration Scientist required for my client, a specialist design and manufacturing company within the sensor and monitoring industry. My client undertakes defence contracting work for companies such as DSTL, BAE Systems & QinetiQ so SC Clearance and British Passport (Single Nationality) is essential.
Calibration Scientist Overview
* Maintain calibration laboratory ensuring it meets current standards
* Calibration of CTG sensors following standard operating protocols
* Maintain quality control of calibration procedures and calibrated sensors
* Update calibration procedures and develop new calibration procedures for new sensors
* Potential to include site visits to resolve sensor issues
* Responsible for maintaining COSHH paperwork
Calibration Scientist Requirements
* Undergraduate degree with laboratory experience. (However, candidates without a degree will be considered if they have sufficient laboratory experience gained in industry.)
* The candidate must have a range of practical laboratory skills, including standard solution preparation, pipetting and maintaining laboratory apparatus. The candidate must be able to work methodically and keep good records.
* The candidate must have laboratory experience for this role. Industry experience useful.
* Candidate must be a team player but also be able to act on own initiative. The candidate must be able to work methodically and pay great attention to detail. An ability to work well under pressure and to deadline is also required.
* The candidate must be keen to learn new skills and be comfortable working in a highly multidisciplinary environment, as the job will encompass a wide variety of products.
* The ability to provide calibrated products and documentation to meet required deadlines.
* SC Clearance / SC Clearable
* British Passport
* Full UK Driving Licence

Salary Dependant on Experience
Contributory pension scheme.
Life assurance scheme.
Hours - 37.5 hours, 8:00 - 8:30am to 4:00 - 4:30pm Monday to Friday (When urgent deadlines are to be met, or customer support needed, staff will be required to work outside these core hours.)
