Regional Business Lead

The Regional Business Lead sits within our Community Operations directorate, which is around 300 people with the main aim of getting our water from production sites to your tap. Community Operations involves some of the most important areas of the company, with a focus on Leakage which is highly political, driving a lot of media attention across the entirety of the water sector. Our targets to reduce leakage are high, requiring close attention from senior management on the teams driving down this water wastage, which is linked to targets and penalties from our regulators.

An important aspect of the role is to manage across a disparately spread geographical location across the South East. The management is of both Affinity Water people and sub-contracted labour working remotely from offices and water plants around the region. The right candidate will understand the challenges this brings and be comfortable and not only managing the as-is situation but also planning on strategic improvements for the future. It would be expected to improve the leadership across the function, as well as better understand and improve the digital and technological aspects to the teams.

The Regional Business Lead is effectively the operations manager for a defined region within our geographical community. You will have total accountability for the water network, it's maintenance, supply and repair. It's important that you enjoy leading people, getting the best from them by giving the autonomy and respect. As well as being a proven leader, you'll need experience of managing a P&L, supply chains and business planning.

This role is required following a directorate restructure, focussing on our customers and what is important to them to ensure we achieve our vision of being the leading community focussed water company.
