Electrical Calibration Engineer

County Durham

Established for over 30 years our client are a world leading manufacturer of electrical safety test equipment.

Due to internal promotions they are now looking for an experienced Electrical/Electronic biased Calibration Engineer to join their team based from their laboratory in County Durham.

The role will involve calibrating and testing products such as PAT Testers, Test & Measurement Equipment as well as Medical & High Voltage products.

Main Duties

To test, calibrate and adjust a wide range of test equipment types on customers premises in the UK and Overseas (when required)
To follow documented procedures accurately and have a knowledge of specifications and measuring units used. To carry out first line repairs and maintenance on customers premises.
To discuss technical issues with customers and liaise with repair staff regarding faulty items.
To liaise with admin staff regarding customer contact/requirements. To provide detailed calibration certificates. To source and understand equipment specifications when necessary.
To identify and share ways of improving test techniques and increasing parameters.
To deliver a best in class service delivery and provide the administration team with timely data.
Calibrate a wide range of multi-parameter test equipment and provide certificate details when calibration complete
Key Skills & Experience

Must have a strong Electrical/Electronic background. Calibration experience would also be a huge benefit as would experience of repairs in the test & measurement industry.
Experience of working in the Instrumentation industry and knowledge of electrical/electronic principles.
Good interpersonal skills, self starter with tenacity and drive.
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and mathematical knowledge.
Knowledge of quality standards/systems.
