Credit Controller

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller to join a professional services company in central Exeter, working within a modern and slick environment. This role will be based within a finance team of three in Exeter and then a larger finance team of thirty people across the business. This position will require the successful candidate to reduce the amount of debt owed to the business nationally, working collectively as a team. Due to the nature of the business, we are after someone who is credible, professional and who will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with customers. We are looking for someone with a softer approach, who will keep valued clients onside, while gently and firmly chasing payments for the debt.

Tasks will include:

• Chasing debt by telephone, email and post
• Liaising with people across the business to discuss the best approach to take with individual debtors
• Working and adhering to company policies, while being able to suggest improvements to processes
• Maintaining accurate notes on the shared system
• Assisting with the production and sending of monthly reports and figures
• Supporting the wider finance team where necessary

Skills and experience required:

• At least two years' experience within credit control
• Experience of working within a partnership is very desirable
• A credible, reliable and friendly approach
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• A good commercial awareness
• A good sense of humour
