The Company: 

Established in 2006, our client is a publisher of high quality visitor guides for cities and regions across the UK and Ireland. As part of exciting growth plans, they are now looking for a Publishing Assistant to join their dedicated team in Gateshead.

Joining a dynamic, open-plan publishing office, you will have the chance to exponentially increase your skill-set and gain a first-hand understanding of how the industry works.

Your Role: 

As a Publishing Assistant, you will perform a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth running of our client’s publishing process. 

In this key role, you will: 

- Chase up advertising copy via email and telephone channels 
- Respond to incoming telephone queries and transfer them accordingly 
- Liaise with the Sales and Design Team 
- Mail published books out to the customer base 
- Support other areas of the business as required 

About You: 

Whilst no experience is required, to be considered, you’ll need: 

- An interest in media and publishing 
- A working knowledge of MS Excel 
- At a minimum, five GCSEs at grade A* - C 
- Excellent communication skills 
- A great eye for detail 
- The ability to work well as part of a team 

Ideally, you’ll also have an understanding of Macs, but this isn’t essential. 

Other companies may call this role Graduate Publishing Assistant, Production Assistant, Trainee Advertising Assistant or Publishing Administrator. 

Please note, the working hours for this role are Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 16:45.
