Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Matlock, Derbyshire
Salary: £32,032 - £35,187 per annum
Job type: Full time, Permanent (37 hours per week)

As a Network Engineer with the Council, this role will be based within a dynamic and challenging environment, working on stimulating and varied assignments with countless opportunities to apply your knowledge and be a part of a team, providing technical expertise and high quality services.
The primary duties will include the management, maintenance, design and configuration of network infrastructure, working closely with service owners and service users in order to identify and develop innovative solutions and carry out 3rd line support and maintenance activities
The role requires technical awareness and knowledge of the following areas:
- Multilayer switching and routing topologies
- Experience and support of Cisco and HP enterprise network equipment
- Experience with networking monitoring tools. (Solarwinds)
- Strong TCIP/IP understanding
- Third line support activities
- Good firewall and security services knowledge. (ASA, F5, Fortigate)
- MPLS WAN experience will be of benefit
