Our client has an exciting opportunity for a responsive, flexible and dynamic individual to lead on the delivery of their dedicated dementia care service in Sturminster Newton to ensure their residents live well with dementia.
Working closely with the Home Manager, Clinical Lead and Consultant Admiral Nurse, you will collaborate to deliver an outstanding service for the residents and a rewarding environment for staff. The Dementia Care Lead is responsible for the day to day management of a dedicated dementia care service and will be a role model for staff; demonstrating best practice in dementia care at all times and keeping up to date with current thinking in this field of expertise.
This is an exciting new role for the Home and they envisage the role will include supernumerary time to support care planning, supervisions, appraisals, training and liaison with families & professionals. Equally important is your commitment to providing individualised personal care to residents, working in and alongside our team of Health Care Assistants.
You will understand your responsibilities under the legislative requirements of the sector providing support to the Clinical Lead in the day to day running of the home. Your ongoing professional development will be supported by the Home Manager and Consultant Admiral Nurse where you will have opportunities for regular supervision, training and shared learning with their other dedicated dementia communities.
The contract is offered as full-time, 40 hours per week, with variable shifts including some weekends, occasional night duties and share of the 'on-call' emergency telephone. A flexible approach to meet business needs will be required.
The Dementia Care Lead position would suit an individual with significant dementia and elderly mental health experience, looking to take the next step into a higher leadership role.
You'll be a highly organised, flexible self-starter, able to multi-task with effective leadership and communication skills. You will role-model our clent’s values in being kind, friendly, honest and reassuring, willing to embrace and lead change management positively. You will be able to demonstrate your dementia knowledge and credentials through continuous professional development, education and work history.
