Ernest Jackson are looking for a H&S professional with experience of working in an vibrant, however highly regulated working environment, with a passion to share EHS best practice!

THE ROLE

As the EHS Manager, you will have responsibility for delivering Environmental, Health & Safety related support and counsel to all colleagues, at various levels within the business.

You will ensure business wide compliance with all current and future EHS Legislation and corporate requirements; coach and advise colleagues on best practice, and actively contribute to the review of safe working practices and behaviours.

We seek a highly motivated professional to drive the continuous improvement of EHS agenda, strategy, records and data management, who can give clear focus to building EHS capability of employees at all levels of the Ernest Jackson organisation to deliver sustained best-in-class EHS performance. 

You will offer innovative solutions to allow for the seamless input, collation and presentation of EHS performance data and continuous improvement plans with various local and global corporate stakeholders, auditors, regulators and members of the Leadership Team. 

With excellent communication skills, you will be able to co-ordinate internal EHS audits, deliver training, support the completion of risk assessments and accident investigations, challenge behaviour and practice to promote EHS compliance, and be able to work cross functionally and collaboratively with many stakeholders, such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, RD&Q and the Leadership Team.

Applications are encouraged by those with existing NEBOSH qualifications and current exposure to a manufacturing environment, but equally from those currently working towards the qualification or with experience of working in a highly regulated field.

Based in Crediton, this role is commutable from Exeter, Okehampton, Taunton, Plymouth, Barnstaple and Bridgenorth.

Full Time 37.5hrs/wk.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

- NEBOSH qualification 
- Knowledge of a manufacturing or packaging environment 
- Comprehensive IT literacy - preferably with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets 
- Understanding of UK H&S legislation and awareness of ISO9001, OHSAS18001 and ISO14001 requirements
- Strong communication and influencing skills: ability to share EHS data, champion H&S standards and engage employees at all levels
