Our client manages council housing in Sutton. They are revolutionising the way they communicate and engage with their employees, stakeholders and customers across all channels enhancing their reputation as a great service provider and employer of choice.  The role is based within their People and Places Team and based at their head offices in Sutton. Their purpose is to deliver homes and communities where residents feel happy and secure. They aim to do this by offering excellent customer service and having a reputation for excellence as well as offering value for money and providing quality homes in secure and safe neighbourhoods. 

About you – You must be creative and be able to identify new ways of working with their residents and have experience in working with residents and community groups as well as in developing and improving communities. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have experience in working in partnership. An ability to establish good relationships with stakeholders and residents is essential. You will work as an enabler and empower their residents to work independently whilst ensuring that they are adequately resourced to do so. Experience in making bids for funding would be an advantage. You must be a car driver/owner and either possess or agree to apply for an enhanced DBS.
 
About the role – They have two vacancies – 1 full-time (36 hours per week) and the other part-time officer (18 hours per week). Please state on the application form which role you are applying for.

You will work in a small team of two providing community development support for their residents and supporting their Housing Managers in delivering effective community engagement. The role involves working on a number of diarised events but also looking at developing new initiatives. Your involvement will be from start to finish and the success of events will depend on your input and ability to cover all bases and eventualities. You will work on a number of projects either independently or jointly and be required to work occasional weekends or evenings so you must be adaptable and able to “muck-in” as and when needed. The role involves being able to easily get around the borough so you must be a car-driver with access to a car for work.
