Customer Accounts Officer
Salary: £28,296 - £31,125 pro rata + £750 car allowance per annum
Permanent, part time, 20 hours per week (Wed 12:00-17:30, Thursday/Friday 08:45-17:00)

We are currently looking for a Customer Accounts Officer to play a key part in the collection and recovery of arrears from a variety of tenures, taking legal action where necessary. You will also help to support our residents by providing benefits advice and signposting to other agencies where necessary. 
You will be responsible for arrears management within a defined patch and will undertake home visits for collections and, if necessary, will prepare paperwork and present cases in court.
As the successful applicant, you will have previous experience of arrears, debt recovery or credit control, possession proceedings and presenting cases in court. You will have first class communication skills and be able to quickly build rapport with residents and deal empathetically and effectively with vulnerable clients and difficult situations. 
Experience of working to targets in a changing environment is essential as is experience of delivering an excellent level of customer service. You will be able to maintain good working relationships with both internal and external contacts including local authority departments, the DWP and our Neighbourhoods and Tenancy Sustainment teams. Due to the nature of this role you will need to have a good level of IT literacy with Microsoft packages, particularly Word and Excel. 
A clean driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes is essential.
