Technical Project Manager (Medical Product Design) - Edinburgh
GBP55 - GBP65k (may go to GBP70k for exceptional candidates) + Bonus + Benefits
The Job
The Technical Project Manager (R&D) is the interface between the design team (which will include Mechanical Design Engineers, Hardware Designers, Software Engineers, Firmware Engineers, Scientists etc.) and the end customer.
The organisation in question works with various clients across the globe so no two projects are the same. Which is why we think you will find the Project Manager role so interesting!
You could be working with a client in Japan on the concept for a new wearable medical device one week and reviewing the budget for a high-speed financial mapping device the next.
The Project Manager has the overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project because you already do this.
It is crucial you have been involved in the design of a product that has digital and analogue electronics, embedded and graphical user interface software design and mechanical moving parts. If this sounds like your bread and butter, then this is the job for you!
What's in it for you!
The company is only ever as good as their employees.
This is the mantra that the whole organisation works to, so you can be assured that you wont just be another bum on a seat.
They do not want to hire you and then see you leave 2 years later. That's why your career path is constantly being discussed and reviewed to make sure you are getting the experience and training you require to get to where you want to be.
Whether that's a Design Authority in your chosen field or the Director of your own business unit.
The training is a mix of in house and external training that has been specially selected to get the most of their employees. And no expense has been spared in this pursuit. If you decide you want t to be a chartered engineer you will be sponsored throughout the process. If you want Prince2 project management training its likely its already in your development plan.
On top of this you will be paid well and fairly for your efforts. The company has very well-defined pay scales, so you will know what you need to achieve to get that promotion you desire.
Their standard benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (this increases over time and length of service), buy and sell holiday scheme (very useful for those that have more holidays one year and less the next), a generous pension scheme, private healthcare for you and your immediate family, childcare vouchers (because raising a child is tantamount to bankruptcy these days), 3X annual salary life assurance.
They have regular company days out and strive to help all employees build lasting relationships across the organisation, so you will really feel like you are a part of the organisation. Not just a name tag.
