JOB TITLE: Facilities Manager

LOCATION: Bedford, Bedfordshire


SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP26991 - GBP31371 per annum

WORKING HOURS: Full time - permanent

THE COMPANY: Our client is a new, state-funded independent secondary school for 11 to 16 year olds, serving the communities of Bedford and Kempston.

THE ROLE: The role of the Facilities Manager role will be to ensure all aspects of the school sites, the maintenance of the buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment is to a high standard, enabling the Schools to remain working efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities of a Facilities Manager to include:-

• Day to day management of both sites
• Health & Safety lead
• Planned and reactive maintenance
• Out of hours contact and key holder

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will ideally have previous experience within a facilities management or other similar operational role. You will be a proactive individual with excellent communications skills who can liaise with other members of staff, parents and other local organisations. You will have a strong and proven work ethic with a 'can do' approach to the working day.

Key experience for the role of Facilities Manager based in Bedford, Bedfordshire

• English and Maths GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
• Trade apprenticeship or relevant site experience
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance
• Experience of managing contracts
• Experience of creating and implementing PPM schedules
• Full driving licence - a D1 category would be highly advantageous
